Projekt is currently offering the recently remastered reissues of Love Spirals Downwards’s first two albums, Idylls and Ardor — as well as the debut Lovespirals album, Windblown Kiss — as part of their 3 for $20 sale. Also included in the list of 84 discounted CDs and other items is the Projekt 100 compilation containing “Kykeon (50 Years of Sunshine Mix)”, which is a rare remix not available on any of the band’s albums. A Dark Noel (in the Excelsis series) ~ 3 — featuring LSD’s shoegazery version of “Welcome Christmas” — is also a part of the sale. This track is also not available on any of the band’s albums. Now would be a great time to fill in your collection!

Projektfest 2010

Sam of Projekt asked us to help promote the upcoming Projektfest 2010. Apparently some of you were asking us — and Melodyguild — to be included via the Projekfest Poll. While we appreciate the kind gesture, we hope you understand that we are not able to perform. It sounds like Sam has a lot of interesting things planned, though, and we’ve certainly had some entertaining times at past Projektfests. Philly is a cool town, too, so definitely check it out if you have the chance to attend!

See that little window at the top of the stairs? That’s the room where most of Ardor was recorded and mixed, back in 1993-1994. This is a Victorian flat in San Francisco.

Noticed this fan created video for Love Spirals Downwards’ song, “I Could Find It Only By Chance,” from the album, Ardor. Technically they should have asked permission to use the music first, but perhaps we can turn a blind eye to their legal transgression this once… We created an official LSD YouTube Channel recently, so check it out.

Ardor Remastered Reissue Now on iTunes

After a long delay, you can finally purchase the newly expanded Ardor [Remastered Reissue] on iTunes. This 2007 version of Love Spirals Downwards’ classic 1994 sophomore album includes 3 bonus tracks; a live recording of the classic “Write in Water,” an unreleased outtake from the album sessions called “Oisin and Niam,” and an alternate mix of “I Could Find It Only By Chance,” also from the original album sessions. Once again, band founder, Ryan Lum, completely remastered the album from the original DATs to bring out more sonic clarity than ever before, and the artwork has been recreated from the original photograph to striking results!

Melodyguild EP Released by Projekt

The long rumored debut CD by Melodyguild — the band of LSD vocalist, Suzanne Perry — has finally been released! The ‘Aitu’ EP — originally announced in early 2003 — will be officially released June 10, 2008, but is available online now via Projekt. This 4-song digipac is currently #6 on the Projekt Top 10 – congrats!

More reviews for the reissues of our first 2 albums have appeared online on MusicTap, Re:Gen Mag (Idylls and Ardor), two.one.five magazine (Idylls and Ardor), and The Mick – a downloadable PFD magazine. Some are better than others, but I guess you have to take the bad with the good on the old Internet.
